Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special

Today was the day and IT. WAS. EPIC.

“The Day of the Doctor” was broadcast in 94 countries at the same time as it aired on BBC One and was screened in 3D in more than 1,500 cinemas in those 94 countries – from Russia to Ecuador – the episode attracted hundreds of fans in fancy dress, from bow ties to Dalek outfits. Had it played around here, I would have gone and that says a lot considering the only one in my house that’s watched this show is my Evil Genius 12 yr old (I’m still on Season 2 and my hubby is still watching Season 1 — THANK YOU NETFLIX).

It featured three different Doctors (Matt Smith, David Tennant and John Hurt) and was over 75 minutes long with the villain basically being the Doctor himself. He has to come to terms with his decision to commit mass genocide which would halt the “Great Time War” making him the “last of the Time Lords” as he was introduced in 2005 when the show re-launched. The anniversary story was Matt Smith’s penultimate outing, before he regenerates at Christmas into a new Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi. We got a very brief glimpse of him in the very end of the episode.  What I loved about this episode was that even though I’m new to the Doctor Who storyline, I was able to enjoy it and follow along with ease. Now back to watching Netflix so I can be ready for the new season!

Hart of Dixie: Take This Job and Shove It

Hart of Dixie: Take This Job and Shove It

For once, Zoe gets in a pickle and it’s not because of her. This time, we have her beau to thank as he puts his foot in his mouth and tells Brick she is going to open her own doctor office. George happens to be present when Zoe talks to Brick about this and he informs her she can’t open an office within 20 miles or face an exorbitant fine.

George helps Lynly with LSATs and she consistently puts the moves on him. She decides to show up in lingerie in his houseboat. He helps her zip her dress and gets his finger caught, leaving him no choice but to call Zoe for help. Needing to lose the tail, Brick put on her to try and catch her in the act of treating patients, she enlists the help of Wade and he distracts him. Joel gets Wade to punch him in the stomach so he can be treated by Brick and keep him distracted while Zoe works on sewing up George.

LaVon wants to get a minor league baseball team and begs Brick for help, which requires him to talk to the teams owner, who happen to crush on him hard in college. He ends up ditching her to see what Zoe is up to because his Pharmacist/Private Eye he hired lost her.

Lemon goes up against Cricket and the Belle’s and forms a Resistance. Hoping others will join, she calls a meeting, but is busted. She has to perform sanctions or she can leave the Belle’s. She goes a long with it, cleaning graffiti, scraping gum, etc and then decides in the end to quit. Annabeth joins her and quits the Belle’s too.

Zoe goes to Brick and presents him with a check for $350,000 and said just don’t cash it for 10 to 15 years because she wants to practice medicine. They come to an agreement that she will work for him as an associate.

AHS: Coven 3.2 – Boy Parts

Here are some of the best lines from this episode.

  • I’m Fiona Goode. I’m in charge everywhere

  • You’ve got a mean streak wider than your backside

  • If 10 of the hundreds of things I’ve read about you is true, you deserved every minute down there under all that dirt

  • How’s the oven? Ready for a bun?

  • Did we just marry the devil because I don’t know if I’m down with that
  • Okay maybe it would have been better if you stayed dead, but I couldn’t forgive myself if I didn’t try

  • You could offer me a unicorn that shits hundred dollar bills and I still wouldn’t give you more than a headache

Madame LaLaurie:

Revolution S2. E4 Patriot Games Recap

Charlie is screwed (or about to be) until Monroe swoops in with his machete’s and saves the day, which pisses off Charlie even more. Even though Charlie doesn’t like it, she sticks with Monroe because they know that the government (calling themselves Patriots) are trouble.

Rachel wakes up to the Patriots in her town and she and Miles know it’s not a good thing. He goes outside the walls and fights and kills bad guy Titus, while Rachel shares her Anti-Patriot beliefs with Ken, who plans on killing her because they recruited him 7 YEARS AGO. Ya think ya know someone.

Aaron has turned into some kind of freak, using the matrix to see throughout the land. Fireflies as eyes, he catches two guards on fire as they are about to capture Miles.

Major Neville is tired of Cooke making life hard for him so he follows him to an opium den and makes him OD, giving himself a promotion.

This episodes MVP: AARON because you burned two guys while you were sleeping and saved Miles.

Hart of Dixie: S3.E2 Recap

Friends in Low Places

The show opens with a bit of awkwardness in each relationship we see.

We discover George had a one-night stand with Lavon’s cousin,Lynly. He didn’t know that was his cousin, and being the sweet southern boy that he is, he made her eggs before leaving. That gesture turned her one night stand into wanting to see him again, but he’s not really interested. Lavon goes to George as his lawyer, about his cousin, not realizing it was him that slept with her.

Zoe is back to Bluebell and her boyfriend Joel is with her. She spends the day trying to convince him that Bluebell is awesome. Dash is spreading the rumor that Lemonade LIVES and everyone in the Rammer Jammer eggs them on to kiss. Lemon comes up with steps to dissolving her fake relationship.

The Fake Relationship Break Up Rules

  1.  Announce having problems
  2. Stage fight and end it
  3. Move on with lives and hope everyone has amnesia
  4. You get some mouthwash

Lemon is having a secret affair with Meatball and when he finds out she is “with” Wade, he refuses to continue their relationship. Zoe thinks Lemonade is disturbing an possibly against nature, yet when she takes Joel for breakfast, she’s obviously jealous and Wade can see it.

Later, Zoe finds Lemon flirting with Carter Covington and starts to question their relationship.

As the day progresses, the small dinner party thrown by Annabeth and Lavon for Zoe and Joel turns into a full affair as George, Lemon, and Wade manage to get invited (or invite themselves) and the craziness begins.

  • Lavon hated Joel’s book and they get into an awkward conversation.
  • George tries to backpedal with Lynly, but she really wants to have some sort of relationship with him. He says no and Lavon interrupts, trying to find out WHO broke her heart.
  • Zoe realizes nobody knew until yesterday about Lemonade and believes their relationship is fake.
  • Wade really doesn’t want the fake relationship to come to light and Lemon introduces him to Carter in front of Zoe to sell it, then tells Carter in private the relationship is fake b/c Wade is terminal.
  • Joel eats a catfish cake and starts having a reaction b/c he’s allergic to peanuts.
  • Meatball crashes the party intoxicated and drops the ball that he has had sex with her. But the best part is in how he introduces himself to Carter — “I’m Meatball. No last name needed, like Cher or Jesus.”

Joel asks three important questions that we were all thinking and what Zoe called:

Bluebell’s Favorite Game

1. Meatball?

2. Seriously?

3. Is Cricket’s husband gay or just Southern?

Gee, Cricket, I don’t know.

Wade and Zoe share a moment, showing us Zade is not dead.

The Walking Dead: S4.E1 Recap

30 Days Without An Accident

The wait is officially over and Season 4  is here! I decided to summarize my thoughts on the season premiere via my twitter reactions and what stuck out in my mind.

Right from the get go, I had consistency issues with season 4.

See, no crutch and he’s not hobbling at all.

Then there was the chick, Clara, Rick met in the woods. I think everyone’s creepy radar went off. I made a prediction about her:

Check out what two of my friends and I thought about her.

Especially in this shot!

Through their conversation, we learn there are three questions everyone is asked before they are allowed to enter the prison. This is a huge change from Season 3 until the end of the season when Rick decided people could come to them.

 Three Questions

1. How many Walkers have you killed?

2. How many humans have you killed?

3. Why?

Carol and Daryl have a moment. A very flirty moment. Not once, but twice!

My hope of Caryl being a thing is nearly a reality!

Daryl leaves with a group to go to a store and get supplies.

Everything goes downhill fast when a newer member of the prison crew walks past a section filled with alcohol. One thing leads to another and the racks come crashing down, trapping him under it. My thoughts on the matter:

This did lead to a kick ass fight sequence

And the ultimate zombie death

This filled my twitter timeline with people singing:

Finally, the episode is winding down and I get the answer to Herchel and his leg. We see him with a prosthetic.

Sadly for me, the show wasn’t as great as I hoped it would be. I guessed Clara was talking about her husband, who was a walker. She would feed him…well his head because that’s all that was left of him.

— Nat (@agirlnamednat) October 14, 2013
We were introduced to Patrick, who happens to be Phineas of Phineas of Ferb. He was a member of the Daryl Dixon fanclub and awesome in a nerdy sort of way.

The Walking Dead -- Pictured: Vincent Martella

And then, in a seriously screwed up twist, he died.

Here we see Patrick so hot with fever, you can see his footprints when he walks through the prison. He decided to take a shower to cool off, but naturally went into a coughing spell. RIGHT. OVER. THE. WATER. SUPPLY.

I think he’s infected with whatever infected the pig. ZOMBIE SWINE FLU!
