ATL Hot Topic Haul
My trip has consisted of sightseeing, shopping, and being a private makeup artist and stylist for The VRO, one of the vendors of The Vampire Diaries Convention. During one of my many ventures out, Nick and I found a mall and I made some awesome purchases. I bought my kids some things as well, but because they are surprises for them, they are not listed here.
I was going to Hot Topic to check out their selection of labret piercings because I switched out my Monroe black “mole” for a small diamond stud and I liked the way this one felt over the black one. As you can see above, I found EVERYTHING except those labret studs. As usual I wasn’t prepared 100% for the changing ATL temperatures. When we arrived on Thursday, we had the top down on our rented convertible Mustang and on Sunday, the temperatures were frigid. All I brought were zip up hoodies and when Nick found this HP Gryffindor jacket on clearance, he said I had to get it. This Hot Topic had the glitter liners for $1.99 instead of $5, so I had to purchase a silver liner that was filled with multiple colors.
I have been looking for some cool tongue rings and when Hot Topic offered a BOGO 50% OFF sale, I had to jump on it. Excuse the fact that I have my tongue sticking out in the pic above – it looks goofy, but I wanted you to see what the jewelry looked like. I purchased a hinged hoop, but I do not like how big the hoop is. Even though this particular hoop is supposed to be for the nose, it seems too big – like I took a hoop that would go in my ear and put it in my nose.
As I stated in a previous post, I am going against my NOT GOING TO STRETCH ABOVE A 2g or DEFINITELY NOT ABOVE A 0g size plug and bought two pairs of tapers and plugs. I talked it over with my husband (whose opinion is the only one I really truly care about) and he said to go for it. He would prefer I didn’t stretch them so big it looks like they will lay sideways or touch my shoulders (LOL), but he will love me no matter what I choose to do. Being that I am still in education, I plan to stretch to no bigger than 1” and that may not happen. My ears were pierced when I was 5 and they are not even. I’ve noticed my left ear is pierced lower than my right and I worry that my skin will be too thin as I continue to stretch to larger sizes.
Either way, I will wait a week and try to stretch to the 7/16. If YOU are stretching or already a size 2g and would like some bone and wooden jewelry, let me know. I bought a ton of it when I thought I wasn’t going any bigger. Oops. I need to change out my cartilage and my tragus piercings – where do you buy your jewelry? Let me know so I can do some more shopping!

Atlanta Ulta Haul

When my original plans were scrapped, it didn’t take long for my hubby and I to come up with a long list of things to do while we were in Atlanta.
The first thing we did was take a tour of Turner Field, being that we are baseball fans (amazing stadium, btw). If you are a baseball fan, I would highly recommend you do one at whichever stadium is in your area – it’s very cool to experience that feeling of walking onto the field or in the dugout. The picture shows the view from the special seats that retail for $25,000 a season (Nationals Park retails for $40K). While they are very cushy, offer a tv in the front row in case for some reason you can’t see the game going on 20 feet in front of you, and a bar that looks like a nightclub, paying that much for seats is a bit insane. Not to mention, if you’ve ever watched a baseball on tv, you know the people that sit in these seats don’t really watch the game, they play on their phones most of the time.
But, anyhoo – this is not about baseball – it’s about what I did afterwards! I have been dying to get my hands on the China Glaze Hunger Game nail polishes since the press release, but now that they are here, I decided I needed to find them. I made the assumption ULTA would have them only to discover how sadly wrong I was. We drove clear across the city (or so it felt since we didn’t really know where we were going) so I HAD to buy something!
Check out what I bought below. I found out from a co-worker and Hunger Games lover that they were at Sally’s where we live. I will be dropping by there on my way home on Monday and buying up all of them (or what’s left in stock).

I’m so excited to try out the butter nail polish and the Katy Perry lashes! I love love love the Beauty Smoothie in buttercream delight, but I’ve discovered the full size one and the travel one’s have a different consistency. I bought two of the full sized containers of it and I just don’t like the consistency or the smell in comparison to the travel ones. Not sure what it is, but I think if I buy any more of these, I will simply buy only travel bottles!
Sunday adventures include: HOT TOPIC (ear stretching – AGAIN! – Monroe replacements – Hunger Games clothing!), possible Tattoo if I can find a shop that will see me – and maybe a trip to Scoops in Covington (the location of filming for #TVD), the most amazing ice cream parlor in all of GA.
Stay tuned!

ATL Haul: In the Beginning
When we (my husband and I) first arrived in Atlanta, we got our rental car (total sweetness, btw) and realized we had HOURS to kill before we could even check into our hotel.
Having gone to ATL twice before, I suggested one of the local cities Alpharetta because it had a Cheesecake Factory and a mall that I fell in love with last time (North Point Mall).
After lunch, we did some random shopping and I simply HAD to share it with you.

My haul consists of the following:
- APPLE: KATE SPADE iPhone 4S case
- COACH: Tortoise aviator glasses
- TARGET: Bumble and bumble: Seaweed Shampoo
- CONVENTION CENTER: Radiohead concert tee
For the record, RADIOHEAD was AMAZING! If you’ve never heard them before, you seriously MUST listen to them. Thom Yorke was dancing so crazy, I couldn’t help but laugh, but his songs were great.
I plan on searching for the China Glaze Hunger Games collection that came out recently and hoping and praying it’s not already sold out.
You finally get a semi-decent picture of my new hair in this picture. I hated it at first, but it’s grown on me since then and now I love it!
Seriously considering a new tattoo or piercing while I’m down here. I’ve wanted my quotation mark tattoo on my wrist/lower thumb area forever and a day, but can’t ever seem to find the time to get it. Now might be that time!
I replaced my Monroe “mole” with a diamond stud while down here and just before I left SOMD, I stretched my ears “one last time” to a 0g. I wonder what size I’ll actually stop at. I might move to my second hole next so I don’t try to make these any bigger. Looking at 00g and getting excited at the prospect of the jewelry :/ <—ADDICT

Tricks For Perfect Eye Makeup: Shadow Shields
Once upon a time in a magical place where unicorns make rainbows, Michelle Villanueva was hard at work coming up with an invention that would revolutionize the makeup industry.
As the sole founder and CEO of this OMG-it-makes-so-much-sense-how-did-I-not-think-of-that?! product, she found a way for even the best makeup artists to save time in the creation of their look.
Michelle came up with SHADOW SHIELDS.
Shadow Shields do exactly what the name implies – they shield your face from getting fallout all over the lower lid/lash line area. If you are new to the world of makeup, I would suggest running to your nearest Sephora or wherever they are sold (check the site above to verify locations) and stock pile them like they were gallons of water and you were preparing a fallout shelter.
Even the most seasoned of artists turn to these, using them in the creation of their fancy smoky eye at a variety of celebrity-infested events. As demonstrated below, I show you how I apply them to not only prevent fallout, but to create the perfect cut crease lid with winged liner. ![]()
Three small pieces of adhesive stand between you and the perfect eye makeup. Pull off the end pieces or go ahead and take all three off for a little extra staying power. This works so much better than a piece of tape or wasting beauty powder to protect you from fallout. I like to apply them, do my makeup, add my eyeliner, and then dispose of them – all the while creating the sharpest corners of my liner EVER!
NOTE: When you apply the product under your lower lash line, try to make it as close to the lash as possible. It will feel awkward at first, but before the first eye is complete, you will have forgotten they are there.
This saves time when you have to knock out 10 smokey eye looks and have very little time before a big event. This even works perfectly if you are a n00b, trying to figure out the ins and out of the makeup world, giving you the confidence you need to look amazing. I don’t know how I ever survived without them.
If you are interested in these, stay tuned – I will be giving some away on my YouTube channel shortly!

Urban Decay on HauteLook–Mini Haul
Sometimes I think my email is against me. It delivers the most amazing deals into my inbox, taunting me to open and spend the money I have tucked away in my “Beauty” account. At first, I try to resist, but it’s not long before I give in and I click on the link to the HauteLook page and before you know it, I’ve got a shopping cart filled with sweet yumminess.
Every girl needs UDPP in her life…guys too, if you love makeup. UDPP is the duck tape to the makeup industry. Granted, this is an “old skool” tube of it, but I have no problems chopping it in half (to much horror to Urban Decay and many others that say it’s unsanitary).
Much to my surprise, these glide on shadow pencils act not only as a base of sorts, but can be used as a cream shadow or even as eyeliner. They are waterproof, and once you give them time to set, they do not smudge at all. This mini-set has found a new home in my makeup bag that accompanies me to school and has already acted as a base, a shadow, and a liner.
The colors above are:
- Delinquent
- Rehab
- Juju
- Sin
- Clash
Note: Delinquent is a very vibrant purple that for one reason or another came out to resemble more of a burgundy color here instead of a true grape. Delinquent has more blue in it than red undertones.
Do you have these? The NYX Jumbo Pencils or the Coastal Scents eyeshadow pencils are close dupes of these, but neither of them are waterproof and both crease when worn alone. I did not find these to do that.
Did you get anything recently from Urban Decay or HauteLook? I purchased some Lorac as well and got some extra goodies to give away so stay tuned for updates!
