A few weeks ago, my family did some nerding and one of the stops was at The Gari Melcher House and Studio in Stafford, Virginia. Before we toured, I had absolutely no clue who he was. What I discovered was that he was a famous painter that lived in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Before diving into the history that we uncovered, I wanted to share pictures from the exquisitely restored grounds. He and his wife created their own piece of heaven in Virginia.
I loved this house because there was art in every room. Some of the historic houses we have visited left a lot to be desired, but this house was different. Stay tuned for more about the Gari Melcher House and Studio.
